PSG Sponsors Business Case Competition for Latino Students

PSG recently participated in ALPFA’s Annual Student Summit at Brandeis University, which attracted more than 300 students. At the Summit, PSG sponsored two business case competitions among the students. PSG President Aaron Green presented the two winning teams, one from Hult International Business School and one from Brandeis University, with a $1,000 check from PSG.

ALPFA is the largest Latino professional association, uniting professionals and students in the fields of business, accounting, finance and other professions and connecting them to a community of resources to help them succeed and rise through corporate ranks. ALPFA is dedicated to enhancing opportunities for Latinos and building leadership and career skills.

PSG Receives Award for Social Responsibility and Community Involvement

PSG is proud to be recognized by the Northeast Human Resources Association (NEHRA) with an Award of Excellence for social responsibility and community involvement.

PSG was presented with the award at NEHRA’s 2012 Awards of Excellence Breakfast, held September 20 at the Marriott Hotel in Newton.

NEHRA’s annual award ceremony is a chance to recognize the association’s anniversary and its dedication to helping its members lead, advance and influence the management of human resources and its impact on organizational success. The Community Leadership and Social Responsibility Award is given in recognition of the efforts of a company or business to support community involvement and community service. Recipients are recognized for the sustainability of their efforts and their impact on employees and the larger community.

PSG was recognized for its innovative non-profit support program called the Guaranteed Work Program (TM) as well as ongoing community support initiatives, including efforts such as:

  • Financial support via scholarships,
  • The PSG Green Initiative to maintain environmentally friendly business practices, and
  • Lending our expertise to disadvantaged job seekers

PSG’s Aaron Green Named to List of 100 Influential People in Staffing Industry

Congratulations to PSG’s founder and president, Aaron Green, who was recently recognized as one of the most influential people in the staffing industry by Staffing Industry Analysts.

Green was named to the Staffing 100, which appears in the October 2012 issue of SI Review and can also be viewed here.

PSG Recognized As One of Boston’s Largest Staffing Firms

The Boston Business Journal recently published a ranking of the Area’s Largest temporary placement firms, recognizing PSG on the list for the 10th year in a row.

PSG is #4 on the Boston Business Journal’s list, which ranks staffing firms by the current average number of temporary workers they supply daily in Massachusetts.

PSG’s staff of 65 recruiters and managers puts more than 900 temporary workers to work in office support, technical, creative, finance, healthcare and human resources jobs each day in Massachusetts.

PSG Sponsors Future Leader Award at NAAAP Gala

At last week’s National Association of Asian American Professionals Boston Scholarship Gala, PSG staff presented the Professional Staffing Group Future Leader Award and $3,000 scholarship to Sreeja Kalapurakkel.

Sreeja is graduating from the Boston Latin School and will be attending Harvard University as a pre-med student this fall. At Boston Latin School, she served as the co-president of STAND for Human Rights, an organization focused on international human rights and co-founded the Desi Society, a South Asian cultural organization. She is also an avid performer of Indian classical dance and has performed at various venues throughout Massachusetts. Sreeja has a genuine passion in connecting with, and sharing with others, her Indian heritage. The scholarship committee believes, that with her intelligence, maturity, and compassion, Sreeja will emerge as a successful leader in the medical field and will one day achieve her dream of opening a clinic in an impoverished third world country.

The purpose of the NAAAP Boston Future Leader Award is to recognize and reward outstanding Asian American high school seniors who have demonstrated leadership qualities in and out of the classroom.  Started in 1987, NAAAP Boston is pan-Asian American professional organization that promotes the career advancement and leadership development of Asian American professionals in all fields through professional development, community service and social events. It has about 400 members.

PSG Gives Diversity Scholarships, Internships to Boston High School Students

PSG recently funded and presented scholarships to two deserving students at the Northeast Human Resources Association (NEHRA) 2012 Diversity & Inclusion Dinner held last Thursday, March 15.

At this year’s Diversity & Inclusion Dinner, PSG President Aaron Green presented two students, Ayana Green from the John D. O’Bryant School and Ashley Pirone from Madison Park High, with Norma Kornegay Clarke Diversity Scholarships. In addition, Green and Pirone are receiving paid internships with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (a PSG client) and Suffolk University.

“Diverse workforces benefit employees, businesses, customers and communities. As a Boston employer PSG is committed to developing talent for a diverse workforce and we’re pleased to present these scholarships to Ayana and Ashley, who both demonstrate academic responsibility, perform community service, offer helping hands to fellow students and promote harmony among diverse groups,” said Aaron Green, president of PSG and co-chair of the NEHRA Diversity Committee.

NEHRA’s Annual Diversity and Inclusion Dinner celebrates the power of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Research continues to demonstrate that workplaces that harness and leverage the unique differences and similarities within its employees will not only be great places to work but the positive impact on business goals will be enhanced and strengthened.

PSG’s Aaron Green Talks to NECN about Massachusetts Hiring Forecast

PSG President Aaron Green was a guest on last night’s NECN Business show. Aaron was invited to be interviewed about the release of PSG’s most recent Quarterly Human Resources Survey. He spoke about the Massachusetts employment environment with NECN Business anchor John Daly and highlighted an increase in hiring and recruiting locally. PSG’s quarterly human resources survey details Massachusetts employment trends based on client survey results. In the survey PSG asks clients for their responses to questions about hiring and staffing, salary and compensation, concern over retention and recruiting talent and budgets for HR spending.

PSG Helps Urban College Students Prepare for the Job Market

PSG is proud to support Bottom Line, a non-profit organization that helps disadvantaged urban youth successfully prepare for college. Earlier this month, PSG staff members Jason Katsohis and Lauren O’Brien attended Bottom Line’s Go Far Forum in Boston. Three hundred students attended the forum where they participated in career workshops, met local recruiters, and experienced practice interviews. Katsohis and O’Brien were among the career experts who volunteered their time and expertise to conduct practice interviews and resume preparation workshops.
